Corporate Safety & Health Specialist

Inside the Role

This role is a contributing member of the DTNA Corporate Safety team establishing and driving a proactive safety culture that aligns with all strategic operations and compliance with local, state, federal & DT regulations. Focus on occupational safety, industrial hygiene, and ergonomic management systems to recognize, eliminate, and control occupational stressors to which persons may be exposed across multiple sites within US and Mexico. Strong communication skills to educate, train, and provide guidance to all levels in the organization with Passion, Respect, Integrity, and Discipline.

We Take Care of Our Team

Position offers a starting salary range of $110,500 - $141,500 USD 

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

What You Drive at DTNA 

  • Be an engaging safety leader within the corporate safety team and provide safety leadership to all levels
  • Manufacturing Environment experience or Occupational Health in a medical facility required.
  • Provide strategic safety support and guidance to the multiple plant safety teams, corporate, and plant level management groups
  • Be the subject matter expert in local, state, federal electrical safety standards/codes, DTNA guidelines, and Daimler Truck AG guidelines
  • Steer and facilitate US/Mexico group meetings regarding occupational safety, health, and medical providers
  • Participate in local and global safety audits, governmental agencies interactions, and union negotiations
  • Collaboratively develop the Safety envisioned future, strategies, & KPIs in conjunction with the DTNA Safety Teams and Daimler Truck AG
  • Manage multiple projects between medical, safety, third party administrators, and legal regarding Occupational Health
  • Manages the occupational safety, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and occupational health initiatives in conjunction with local and global Daimler Truck teams.
  • Provide leadership to location safety engineers/representatives while holding locations accountable through clear expectations and transparency.
  • Develop relationships within Safety communities to benchmark safe practices.
  • Flexibility to attend meetings with other time zones.
  • Travel (international and US) required 40%

Knowledge You Should Bring 

  • BS in Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Safety, or related degree is required.
  • Deep working knowledge of electrical safety standards (OSHA, NFPA, NEC, etc.) is required.
  • Must be able to work with limited direction and be able to make critical decision in complex situations is required.
  • Must possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to deal with people at all levels of the organization is required.
  • Must have passion and be able to inspire others into action is required.
  • Project management and multiple skill management is required.
  • Deep working knowledge of occupational health and workers compensation knowledge is required.
  • Multi-site and/or regional experience is required.
  • Industrial hygiene sampling, data analytics, and containment is required.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have 

  • Master’s degree in Safety & Health, Industrial Safety, or related degree is preferred.
  • At least two years of experience working in unionized environment; including contract negotiations is preferred.
  • Enablon working knowledge is preferred.

Relocation assistance will be provided to selected candidate if living outside the job location.
