WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
  • Design of transmission components (Housings, Gears, Shafts)
  • Design based on functional, durability, packaging & manufacturing requirements and development of proto parts with suppliers for testing.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams & develop axle components with suppliers. 
  • Works on problems of complex scope, through extensive usage of standard concepts & principles
  • Bring in ideas for process improvements and cost optimization
  • Bring in ideas for innovation relevant to the project module
  • Developing trusting relationship with partners in close collaboration with the team
  • Interacting in and across department (project-related)
  • Working with internal and consulting external engineers

Domain: Axle Design & Development

Education: B.E./B. Tech in Mechanical/ Automotive
Overall Experience: Minimum 3 years in automotive OEM or Tier 1


Subject Knowledge:
  • Expertise in designing complex housings based on functional, durability & manufacturing requirements (HPDC / LPDC & Sand Castings) and development of housing with cast suppliers.
  • Good knowledge of Transmission components (Gears, Shafts, Casting, forging, Sheet metal components)
  • Transmission performance and durability calculations
  • Design of plastic/steel tubes, support brackets etc.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, Tolerance stack-up and drawing specifications 
  • Knowledge of CAE simulation and validation will be an added advantage.
  • Strong NX design skill is mandatory
  • NX CAE simulation - structural , system and components

 

Modeling Software:  Siemens NX 2 years minimum (Modules: Solid Modelling, Sheet Metal, Tubing/Mechanical routing, Drafting, CAE- Structural)

PLM tool: Experience in Siemens Teamcenter or similar 

Languages: English (fluent verbal and written)
 

Supporting experience/ Tools/ Techniques/ Soft Skills: 

  • Independent handling of Design responsibility of any transmission component, preferably with OEM or Tier 1 supplier
  • Stakeholder Management & Interacting with suppliers to explain the design intent and understand the manufacturing limitations , aware of QMS requirements.
  • Capable of understanding Lifecycle management of automotive parts giving interim and long-term solutions related to Transmission components.
  • Technical expertise in component design and field failure management 
  • Well versed with MS Office (Excel, Power Point), Agile, Co-creative but self-standing
  • Able to present the team in-group meetings, preparing Minutes of Meeting, Task Prioritizing, straightforward communication with flexible approach.
  • Assertive and good listener; Team player
  • Ability to grasp changing scenarios and adjust priorities accordingly
