Loss Mitigation Supervisor

The successful candidate in this role will lead, manage and develop assigned teams. This position is responsible for Bankruptcy and Loss Recovery which includes working directly with our Attorneys and Agencies to maximize collections efforts post charge off and repossession and the occasional court appearance. Provide active coaching and mentoring to team members. Ensure proper analysis and controls are present to manage risk and expenses to improve overall performance and efficiencies within the Recovery and Bankruptcy processes. This candidate will also be responsible for call quality for US and Mexico for High Risk accounts to identify and communicate any training gaps and to provide positive feedback for area of improvements.

• Supervises day-to-day work and participate in coaching and development of employees on the Technical and Business Support band in operations, manufacturing, captive finance and/or logistics
• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to use tact and diplomacy to exchange information with employees

What You Drive at DTFS

Coaching and Development (US and Mexico)

 Create coaching plans that supports the call model.

 Ensure feedback is given to employees in a structured and timely fashion.

 Identify areas of opportunity for employees in their department and create/administer development plans to capitalize on the opportunity.

Maintain a prospectus of current leadership techniques by interacting with a leadership coach to solicit feedback and provide observations in order to improve the leadership capabilities of his/her team.

Performance Loss Recovery Strategy –

Encourage an environment of idea generation/exploration.

Identify business process changes that could be implemented to improve cost efficiency, minimize loss exposure and increase quality customer service.

Collaborate with the Collections management team to explore feasibility and implement ideas.

Determine strategic direction with current Agency/Attorney/SKIP Vendors while working closely in conjunction with Vendor Relations Manager to determine current effectiveness of vendors and identify other vendors that may be able to provide the service in a more effective and efficient manner.

 Actively review business processes for opportunities to create efficiencies, cost savings and a customer oriented approach. 

Call Quailty and Partnership

Communicate and partner with colleagues in other areas such as customer care and operations to ensure efficiencies throughout the organization.

Share ideas with other areas to ensure no communication breakdowns occur when strategic or tactical changes occur in the collections area.

Share best practices, as well as benchmarking opportunities actively to improve strategic direction with industry colleagues.

Promote interaction through networking with the business centers and Mexico.

Partner with Mexico on call quaility results to ensure the most effective approach on customer contacts. Call calibrations on a regular basis with US and Mexico teams.

Approvals based on LOA

Responsible for approving repossession and charge off based on LOA

Reveiew account to ensure the proper documentation and quality of work

Providing feedback to agents on opportunities and recognition

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • BS/BA and prefer 2-4 years of relevant experience or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.

  • 2 + years of overall work experience in commercial finance.

  • 2 year of experience in  collections

  • 2 years leadership experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and mainframe systems.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data.

  • Ability to understand call center and delinquency metrics.

 

Exceptional Candidates might have

  • Understanding of Bankruptcy and recovery process

  • Structured call model training through any collection standardized practices.
