Your impact and responsibilities:

Daimler Truck Financial Services has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Team Leader to join our company.  This role is based in Mulgrave at our corporate head office and will be responsible for the daily leadership and workflow management of our Operations team, ensuring we successfully deliver on the expectations of customers, business partners and stakeholders across all operations functions, specifically Collections, Settlements, Support and Remarketing. This role will be key in supporting the success of this team- coaching, building expertise and leading by example to strengthen the teams’ overall capabilities and cohesion as a team.

 

Reporting into the Operations Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the Operations team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and exceptional customer outcomes. 

  • Lead daily operations, including retail and fleet settlements, by setting priorities, allocating resources and providing clear direction to ensure service, quality and business targets are achieved. 

  • Lead, coach and develop team members through effective performance management, regular feedback, recognition, training and cross-skilling to build capability, engagement and operational resilience. 

  • Manage individual and team performance through regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, KPI monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives. 

  • Drive achievement of departmental objectives through proactive performance management and regular KPI reporting and insights to the Operations Manager. 

  • Champion a customer-centric culture that consistently delivers outstanding outcomes for customers, dealers and employees. 

  • Ensure the timely and accurate processing of dealer commissions in accordance with established procedures and timeframes. 

  • Oversee collections activities, including monitoring NPL performance and guiding the team in applying DTFS's risk-based collections strategy to achieve positive customer and business outcomes. 

  • Manage third-party collection agency relationships, ensuring strong performance, compliance and effective service delivery. 

  • Assess and manage hardship applications in accordance with legislative requirements and DTFS policies.

Your energetic, positive and people orientated personality build on our strong culture of high performance, genuine customer care and empathy, and cross-functional team support.  Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to lead, coach, listen and problem solve, offering sound guidance to facilitate optimal outcomes for our customers, our business and your team is imperative.  An ability and eagerness to engage with customers and internal teams, to cross-collaborate and uplift skills within the team and support with escalations when required will be essential.  A great communicator, you will be able to bring people and processes together, helping us to build on our culture and ensure we continue to be a great place to build careers.

 

You will possess advanced skills with Microsoft Office. A qualification or commercial experience in banking or finance would be advantageous.
