Vehicle Mechatronics Architecture / Integration Engineer

Your Impact

As a Mechatronics Concept Engineer, you will be at the heart of shaping the next generation of commercial vehicles, working at the intersection of software, electronics (ECUs), and mechanical integration.

In this role, you transform future mobility trends, emerging technologies, and customer needs into innovative vehicle concepts and system architectures. You will play a key role in ensuring that Daimler Truck remains at the forefront of industry evolution — from software-defined vehicles and connectivity to data-driven services and intelligent transport solutions.

Rather than focusing on detailed development, your mission is to define strong, forward-looking concepts, enabling engineering teams worldwide to deliver scalable and competitive solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Define, describe, and continuously refine holistic vehicle concepts integrating hardware and software systems
- Collaborate closely with system experts (e.g., TT/S, E/E, software, and integration teams) to align concepts across domains
- Translate customer, market, and technology trends into clear and structured system-level requirements
- Drive concept definition in key areas such as:
  - Mechatronics and E/E Architecture (concept level)
  - Global Feature Lists and EE compatibility
  - Low Voltage (LV) Architecture concepts
  - Cross-domain mechatronic integration strategies
- Define Powertrain-related system concepts and performance hypotheses
- Act as a key contributor in connecting vehicle-level thinking with system-level execution
- Support global alignment across development teams, ensuring consistency in concepts and approaches
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and standardization of concept development methodologies
