Pricing Strategy and Planning Analyst II

Inside the Role

The Pricing Strategy and Planning Analyst II is a member of the DTNA Market Pricing team within the New Truck Pricing department. This role is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of retail pricing for DTNA and Detroit products across North America and Export markets. The Analyst II executes pricing processes, performs detailed analysis, supports pricing strategy initiatives, and manages pricing-related inputs throughout the order lifecycle from quotation through invoicing.
Working closely with senior analysts and cross-functional partners, this position ensures pricing accuracy, maintains pricing systems and documentation, and supports timely implementation of pricing decisions. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, analytical, collaborative, and capable of balancing adherence to established processes yet able to independently solve routine problems and identify improvements.

Position offers a starting salary range of $78,000 - $100,000 USD  

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience​

What You Drive at DTNA

Pricing Analysis, Execution and Order Management

  • Maintain and update retail pricing for models, options, and other product offerings within applicable product definitions and configuration systems.

  • Analyze data, identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and recommend solutions to improve pricing accuracy and business processes.

  • Support the development and maintenance of pricing models, matrices, analytical tools, and reporting used to establish and evaluate option pricing.

  • Price and process quotes for non-priced or unpublished sales codes to support dealer and business quote activities.

  • Support daily recurring and ad hoc work while balancing team workloads and priorities, in addition to managing annual retail pricing update projects.

  • Ensure approved pricing actions are accurately and timely implemented across all pricing systems and tools.

  • Monitor pricing transactions throughout the order lifecycle to ensure pricing is correctly reflected on units and invoices.

  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and audit trails supporting pricing decisions and system updates.

  • Perform routine validations, audits, and data quality reviews to ensure pricing accuracy and process compliance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner effectively with departments including SpecPro, Product Definition, Option Controlling, CAE, Product Strategy, IT, and other business stakeholders.

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships that support collaboration, knowledge sharing, and successful implementation of pricing initiatives.

  • Participate in cross-functional meetings, workshops, and project activities to represent pricing requirements and support business objectives.

  • Communicate pricing information clearly and professionally to stakeholders across multiple functional areas.

Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving

  • Follow established policies, controls, and procedures while also resolving routine issues independently.

  • Escalate complex issues appropriately and collaborate with senior analysts or manager to determine effective solutions.

  • Support process improvement initiatives that enhance pricing accuracy, efficiency, system functionality, and data integrity.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve the effectiveness of pricing-related processes and controls.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • BS/BA and prefer 2-4 years of relevant experience; or 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support business decisions.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to accuracy when managing data, pricing inputs, and system transactions.

  • Ability to follow established processes and procedures while independently managing assigned responsibilities.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

  • Working knowledge of IMS, SpecPro21, PWMS, cbFC/SAP, Tableau, Alteryx, or similar business systems.

  • Experience working with large datasets, reporting tools, and analytical applications.

  • Understanding of data governance, process controls, and audit requirements.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Experience in commercial vehicle, automotive, manufacturing, or pricing-related environments.

  • Working knowledge of pricing strategies, pricing methodologies, and pricing system administration.

  • Experience supporting cross-functional projects and process improvement initiatives.

  • Familiarity with pricing analytics, business intelligence tools, and data visualization techniques.
