Job Title: Spare Parts Manager – Supply Chain

Function: SCM – Aftermarket / Customer Service
Experience: 5–10 Years
Qualification: BE / B.Tech



Role Purpose

Ensure high service level for spare parts by driving order fulfilment, reducing Back Orders (BO) and VOR cases, and improving fill rate through strong planning, supplier alignment, and a customer-oriented supply chain approach.



Key Responsibilities

Order Fulfilment & Service
• Manage spare parts supply based on order types (stock, emergency, VOR)
• Ensure timely fulfilment to meet dealer and customer requirements
• Drive reduction of BO and VOR through proactive actions

Cross-Functional Alignment
• Work closely with Spare Parts / Aftermarket team on demand priorities
• Coordinate with Planning, Procurement, and Logistics for material readiness

Inventory Planning & MRP Governance
• Plan inventory using FMS inputs, MRP logic, and consumption trends
• Define and maintain system MRP parameters based on FMS categories (fast / medium / slow)
• Optimize reorder levels, safety stock, and lot sizes
• Continuously improve MRP effectiveness and planning accuracy

KPI & Performance Management
• Track and drive:
• Fill Rate
• BO Reduction
• VOR Fulfilment
• Supplier OTIF
• Establish structured review mechanism with internal teams and suppliers

Supplier & Capacity Management
• Align supplier capacity with spare parts demand
• Drive performance improvement and shortage recovery actions
• Work with suppliers to ensure priority for service parts and VOR requirements

Data & Planning
• Perform hands-on data analysis for demand trends, shortages, and performance gaps
• Build forward capacity outlook for future demand readiness

Process Improvement & Customer Orientation
• Drive continuous improvement in spare parts steering process (planning, allocation, prioritization)
• Develop and implement standard processes for BO/VOR management and escalation
• Work with suppliers to build a customer-centric approach, ensuring responsiveness to field requirements
• Strengthen end-to-end visibility and faster decision-making through data and governance



Key Skills
• Strong knowledge of spare parts / aftermarket supply chain
• Hands-on experience in MRP parameter setting & inventory planning
• Strong analytical skills (Excel / Power BI preferred)
• Problem-solving mindset with focus on continuous improvement
• Effective stakeholder & supplier management
