Objective of the position:
The ITC-MX Analyst - HTS Classification is responsible for the accurate determination of applicable tariff classifications and descriptions for raw materials and finished products for all Daimler's Mexican business entities.
Indispensable Requirements (Candidates who do not meet these requirements may be discarded):
- HTS classification Subject Matter Expert and automotive industry knowledge required.
- Familiarity with prints, drawings, designs, parts, materials. Knowledge of US, TARIC, ALADI Tariffs is desirable.
- Knowledge and understanding of Mexican and International Customs Trade Law framework. Knowledge of the Automotive Fiscal Deposit regime.
- Familiarity with Customs software. Database management skills (intermediate MS-Excel or MS-Access).
- English level: B2-C1
- Spanish: C1

Minimum two years experience in international trade in Mexico Customs, Customs Brokerage firm, or large multi-national business.
Academic Knowledge: Degree in Engineering, International Trade or related field

Main Functions:
-HTS and description determination for raw materials and finished products, according to the analysis of technical specifications and use.
-Audit trail and database maintenancewith historic HTS and descriptions, as well as applicable HTS and engineering changes
-Identification and resolution of discrepancies with suppliers in order to enable a correct duty preferential treatment where applicable, as well as Identification and documentation of legal discrepancies among tariffs-
-Assurance of HTS standardization across entry ports and HTS accuracy & updates in software classification module. Timely involvement in new projects in order to determine HTS classifications up front in the framework of business cases creation or legal tariff changes.
