POSITION : Durability CAE Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Durability CAE Engineer for durability and fatigue analysis for heavy commercial vehicles. This role involves conducting durability simulations at both component and full-vehicle levels, translating durability requirements into measurable CAE targets, and validating virtual analysis through correlation with physical test data. The engineer will actively participate in DFMEA discussions, design concept generation, and failure resolution activities, while continuously improving simulation methodologies for enhanced accuracy and robustness.
Roles & Responsibilities :
- Conduct durability simulations at both aggregate and full-vehicle levels.
- Understand and translate durability requirements into quantifiable CAE simulation targets.
- Perform correlation studies to validate the accuracy and confidence level of virtual analysis results against physical test data.
- Represent CAE in DFMEA discussions, design reviews, and failure resolution activities.
- Develop and enhance simulation methodologies to improve CAE accuracy and robustness.
- Derive duty cycles from RLDA (Road Load Data Acquisition) data for durability assessments.
- Lead the initiation and execution of automation projects to enhance efficiency in daily activities.
- Coordinate with the Multibody Dynamics team for force extraction and flexible body preparation.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in durability analysis and CAE practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Over 5+ years of experience in CAE, with a strong focus on Durability/Fatigue analysis.
- Proficient in physical modeling using ANSA and HyperMesh.
- Expertise in FEA solvers such as Nastran, Abaqus, or PERMAS (preferred).
- Skilled in fatigue life prediction & RLDA data analysis using tools like nCode or FEMFAT.
- Prior experience in the Heavy Commercial Vehicle industry is highly desirable.
