Senior Engineer

To evaluate the Suppliers based on the technical concept, effort, capability and maturity to handle the various EV (Electric Vehicle) and CASE (Connected, Autonomous, Shared & Services, Electricprojects of the Daimler Trucks & Buses.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Study of R&D System/SW level Requirements and make a technical summary. Derive a standard estimations forecasting the technical and nontechnical challenges.
  • Analyze the suppliers quotations thoroughly with each steps relating to the concerning project development life cycle
  • Conducting meetings with the engineering department and also with suppliers to understand and bring clarity for the proposals made in the quotation
  • Identifying the technical gaps, flaws in the proposals of the quotation and resolving the same through bringing in right information of the project domain
  • Work and support along with the Team in Germany for Supplier technical Negotiations for the Projects across Daimler Trucks and Busses 
  • Evaluating and release of the final agreed efforts to the project / finance teams for the further process 
  • Budgeting estimation based on high level Project Premises for Business case analysis.
  • Generating of the reports of the Supplier evaluation according to the Daimler Guidelines, and providing the final overview on the total costs, final agreed price, terms and conditions, and related figures.

Qualifications : Min. Bachelors in Engineering in EE, ECE, or Mechatronics areas.

Skills Required:

  • The candidate should have minimum 5 to 7 years of experience working in Automotive Systems and Software Domain (Powertrain, Body & Chassis, Telematics and Driver Assistance etc.)
  • Must have working knowledge(Development, Batteries, On board Charging etc..) for Electric Vehicle projects including vehicle homologation regulations & Processes
  • Good understanding about Electric Motors, BMS, EV transmission & motor controls 
  • Connected, Autonomous, Shared & Services, Electric Projects: Function Development, Vehicle Application & SW Development
  • The candidate should have sound knowledge of technologies, software architecture and tools used in the domain.
  • Excellent exposure and knowledge towards the project and product development life cycles. Involvement with project acquisition phase and initiation phase will be an added advantage for the position sought.
  • The candidate should possess strong verbal and written communication skills. The candidate should be able to demonstrate his experience in client handling and management.
  • The candidate should have good analytical and inter-personnel skills.
