Inside the RoleThe Technical Project Leader role in the Global Product Management team within the department of TT/S (Truck Technology / Software) leads a multi‑disciplinary, multi-regional team, driving global Software & Electronics development forward in alignment with Daimler Truck’s processes, methods, and technology strategy. This dynamic role provides strong operational leadership and cross‑functional coordination to ensure timely delivery of software, electronics, and systems engineering outcomes for assigned domains and projects. This person plans, organizes, and oversees project resources, schedules, budgets, and risks; in partnership with global crossfunctional experts, they develop detailed work plans and status reporting, ensure adherence to quality standards, and oversee the review of project deliverables. This influential role works closely with engineering, business, and external partners to align requirements, manage dependencies, and coordinate vendor contributions by tracking and reviewing external deliverables, enabling effective execution across the organization.

What You Drive at DTNA
Applies foundational technical and project management knowledge to support the planning, coordination, and execution of technical projects and/or product development activities under guidance
Assists in developing and maintaining work plans, schedules, project estimates, and status updates, helping to track milestones, risks, and dependencies
Supports the project team by collecting, analyzing, and organizing technical or project data, and escalating issues as needed
Participates in reviews of project deliverables to ensure alignment with defined requirements and quality standards
Supports the gathering, analysis, and documentation of technical requirements in collaboration with Engineering, following established company development processes
Coordinates with internal teams and, as needed, supports the tracking of vendor deliverables under direction
May assist with basic budget tracking or administrative project tasks related to the assigned product or project
Knowledge You Should Bring
Bachelor's degree in either Engineering (or related technical field), or in Business Administration (or related field)
Academic, internship, co‑op, or early professional experience in project coordination, engineering support, or related coursework/training
Ability to apply analytical thinking to understand problems, evaluate options, and propose solutions with guidance
Demonstrated ability to lead a small project, or lead a workstream within a broader project
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document information and ask effective questions
Ability to collaborate effectively with intercultural, global teams, including awareness of time‑zone differences
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
Internship, co‑op, academic project, or early professional experience related to automotive software or electrical/electronic systems
Exposure to vehicle instrumentation, body controllers, or embedded systems through coursework, projects, or internships
Familiarity with structured product development processes (e.g., CVDS, FRAME, SEDP) through coursework, training, or on‑the‑job exposure
Systems Awareness: Basic understanding of how engineering decisions can impact manufacturing, quality, or after‑sales, with interest in learning end‑to‑end system impacts
Collaboration: Experience working on team‑based projects across disciplines such as engineering, product, or operations
Communication: Ability to explain technical or project topics clearly to peers and mentors, both technical and non‑technical
Professional Behaviors: Demonstrates initiative, reliability, curiosity, and a willingness to learn in a fast‑paced environment
