Automotive Technical Service Support Specialist I

Inside the Role

This position will provide technical and administrative support to customers, dealerships and body builders who utilize buses built by the Thomas Built Buses Organization in High Point, NC. The job will entail significant interaction with Service Administrators who will be required to analyze issues and provide assistance where applicable while utilizing DTSV software systems, documentation, policies and procedures. Interactions will be documented within online systems to record issues and actions taken while providing historical context to ongoing concerns. Finally, this position provides a professional face to the customer as well as responses to issues that are consistent with our core principles and mandated guidelines.

Position offers a starting salary range of $58,000 - $75,000 USD 

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Maintain service records on vehicles including proper documentation of problems, corrective action, and service/warranty commitments.
  • Assist in the development of service bulletins, recall campaigns, and other updates; assist with documentation of the Electronic Service Parts (ESP) catalog. Review technical content for technical literature.
  • Support and provide technical assistance to DTSV field service personnel.  Perform field service and warranty duties in support of DTSV dealers, fleets and customers.
  • Direct efforts in troubleshooting and repairing customer vehicles. Identify and analyze product problems and coordinate corrective action with other departments, vendors, and customers.
  • Communicate corrective action taken to other departments and service network. Travel as needed to identify and correct customer and product problems, and to provide customer assistance.
  • Assist with testing while working with engineering to correct critical field problems. Responsible for service of all DTSV model lines.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Associate degree in automotive and prefer 1-2 years of relevant experience or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • 5 years of technical automotive or heavy truck repair preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of thorough product and technical knowledge relating to TBB and FCCC product lines preferred.
