TM - FBS (Bus - North)

Role Objective : The Senior Manager – Fully Built Solutions (Operations & Quality) is responsible for end-to-end operational execution, quality governance, and performance management of external Body Builders engaged in truck and bus body building activities.
The role ensures compliance to DICV quality standards, statutory and regulatory requirements, planned vehicle output, and effective coordination across internal and external stakeholders.

 

Operations Management

  • Ensure daily operational monitoring of body building activities at assigned Body Builder locations for trucks and buses.
  • Drive achievement of monthly production and dispatch targets in line with HQ production and billing plans.
  • Identify operational risks impacting delivery, quality, or compliance and initiate mitigation actions.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance to DICV Body Building Guidelines (BBG), AIS requirements, OEM quality standards, and application-specific requirements.
  • Govern execution of PDI-2 activities and ensure closure of all critical defects prior to vehicle dispatch.
  • Lead and support root cause analysis (RCA) for quality issues and ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Act as the primary interface between:
    • External Body Builders
    • Local Dealers
    • Customer Support (CS) / Service Teams
    • Internal HQ functions
  • Ensure timely resolution of bus-related issues identified during PDI-2 and post-build inspections.

Third-Party Resource Management

  • Manage and control third-party inspection agencies deployed at Body Builder locations.
  • Ensure inspectors adhere to defined inspection processes, checklists, reporting standards, and escalation protocols.
  • Review inspection effectiveness and drive consistency in quality outcomes.

Planning, Reporting & Documentation Control

  • Coordinate with HQ for:
    • Monthly truck production planning
    • Billing and dispatch alignment
  • Ensure accuracy, availability, and traceability of critical documents including:
    • Delivery Challans (DC)
    • Statutory / tax-related documents
    • Invoices and dispatch records
  • Maintain audit readiness for internal and external assessments.

Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor and evaluate Body Builder performance on SQCDM parameters:
    • Safety
    • Quality
    • Cost
    • Delivery
    • Morale
  • Conduct monthly performance reviews and drive structured improvement plans with Body Builders.
  • Promote standardization, process discipline, and continuous improvement across FBS operations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Automobile / Production preferred).
