Divisional Manager Packaging for Customer Services

 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Packaging Diploma or Degree, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Automobile Industry with handling of Packaging Material and expertise
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

 
 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create innovative and cost-effective packaging designs for spare parts, individual parts, and export shipments

  • Ensure preparation of Pre-Packing Standard documentations for all applicable customer service parts for ready reference of Operations team

  • Conduct packaging feasibility studies and provide recommendations for materials, packaging methods, and equipment

  • Collaborate with product development teams to incorporate packaging requirements during the design phase

  • Analyze and propose creative, timely, and cost-effective solutions whenever packaging issues are reported from market

  • Ensure packaging designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations

  • Identify and select appropriate packaging materials based on product specifications, durability, and transportation requirements

  • Conduct material testing to assess packaging performance, including drop tests, vibration tests, and compression tests

  • Analyze test results, identify areas for improvement, and implement design modifications as necessary

  • Continuously evaluate and optimize packaging processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste

  • Work closely with production teams to streamline packaging operations and improve productivity

  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and automation solutions to improve packaging workflows

  • Establish quality standards and guidelines for packaging operations

  • Conduct regular quality inspections to ensure compliance with packaging specifications and standards

  • Collaborate with quality control and regulatory teams to address any non-compliance issues and implement corrective actions

  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to source packaging materials and equipment

  • Collaborate with logistics and shipping teams to ensure proper handling and transportation of packaged products

  • Provide packaging specifications and guidelines to external stakeholders involved in the supply chain

  • Maintain accurate documentation of packaging designs, specifications, and testing results

  • Prepare reports and presentations on packaging performance, cost analysis, and improvement initiatives

  • Stay updated with industry trends, advancements in packaging technology, and regulatory changes

 

General Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including CS Operations, Logistics team and suppliers

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to packaging efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness

  • Comply with company policies, quality standards, and safety regulations

  • Provide guidance and training to packaging personnel as required

  • Participate in meetings, conferences, and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills

  • Support customer handling for packaging issues, providing prompt resolution and effective communication

  • Establish standards and guidelines for supplier evaluation. Evaluate and select packaging suppliers/vendors; periodically conduct vendor reviews

  • Familiarize yourself with international and local dangerous goods regulations, such as IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) and IMDG Code

  • Identify and classify CKD components that fall under the category of dangerous goods

  • Ensure proper labelling, marking, and documentation of dangerous goods packaging in accordance with regulatory requirements
