As Head of Accounting Daimler Truck (f/m/x), you are responsible for the global leadership and strategic development of Accounting for the Daimler Truck Group. You ensure compliant, high‑quality, and timely financial reporting in accordance with international and local accounting standards, while continuously advancing processes, systems, and organizational structures in a complex, international environment. You act as a key interface to the Chief Accounting Officers (CAOs) and CFOs of segments and entities, auditors, and global finance functions, and play a central role in strengthening governance, transparency, and efficiency across the Group.

As part of a diverse team in an international environment, you enable and ensure collaboration, communication, and necessary coordination between all teams. You will work at our headquarters, the Daimler Truck Campus in Leinfelden-Echterdingen, and report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer and Head of Corporate Controlling.

 

What You Can Expect / Main Challenges:

  • You are overall responsible for external financial reporting for the Daimler Truck Group and its segments. This includes ensuring timely, accurate and compliant financial statements, the continuous reliability of methods, processes, and systems, the performance of financial analyses, and close coordination with local and central auditors.

  • You ensure the compliance and proper application of accounting principles, policies, procedures, and the Internal Control System (ICS) in financial statements and reports, while establishing a consistent global knowledge standard for external accounting and financial reporting through training, information sharing, and global processes.

  • You design and lead a process‑oriented, globally and locally integrated, and functionally aligned organization. You lead directly the CAOs of the segments to ensure standardized global and local processes and optimize balance between centralized and decentralized responsibilities and leverage harmonized Shared Service Center structures.

  • You are responsible for the operational accounting and ensure high‑quality and timely financial statements in line with Group requirements. You continuously improve accounting processes and advance the Shared Service Center and automation approach. By the use of AI you generate further efficiencies and streamline the organization.

  • You lead, inspire and develop globally assigned employees, drive cross‑cultural communication, and foster a culture of accountability, performance and collaboration across cultures.

  • Budget and resource planning for the global accounting organization.

  • You lead with clarity, integrity, and impact, inspiring trust across cultures and hierarchies

  • You actively drive change and modernization, particularly in digitalization, automation, and governance

  • You communicate complex financial matters clearly and convincingly to stakeholders across all hierarchy levels

  • You combine strong analytical capabilities with sound judgment and a collaborative mindset

Why You Are a Match / Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An advanced degree is preferred. International experience (short or long-term) is very desirable.

  • Multiple years of in‑depth knowledge of IFRS and local accounting standards (HGB), internal control systems, CSRD requirements, Capital Markets requirements (where applicable) and audit processes as well as hands‑on experience in operational financial closing activities (monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements).

  • Multiple years of relevant professional experience in Accounting/Finance, including a proven track record and experience leading complex financial process transformation programs, strong international technical collaboration and steering across different segments and deep understanding of DT´s finance and sustainability methods, systems and operations.

  • Exceptional and inspiring leadership and teamwork qualities to lead a global and diverse team of 200+ people, a persuasive mindset and a passion for driving continuous improvement despite the ever-changing complex environments. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with executive management and various other teams on central and global level. Ability to drive change and collaborate effectively across all levels.

  • Deep understanding of complex business processes and models within Daimler Truck, complemented by strong project and change management experience in international environments.

  • Strong presentation and communication skills to cater to different levels - from analyst discussions to Audit Committee presentations.

  • Business‑fluent English skills are mandatory, and preferably also German.

  • A CPA or similar certification is preferred.
