We have a great opportunity for a Used Truck District Manager. Reporting to the Head of a Used Truck, you will develop the presence of Retail standard used Mercedes Benz truck products out in the UK network through working with a geographically selected number of dealers in a territory. Working as part of the Used Truck team based at Wentworth Park the key task is to naturally improve the residual value and reputation of the second-hand truck market for Daimler Truck UK. Track integration risks, issues, and dependencies, providing clear updates, escalation, and decision support to project governance forums. 

 

More about the role

  • Ensure the dealer partners in territory respect Daimler Truck UK used guidelines around stock supply, marketing and market management. And where needed to be able to retail stock alongside dealer colleagues in specific territory.

  • Monitor closely each respective dealer partners maturing contracts by year to make up the first choice of stock with each dealer and to ensure a manageable amount of stock that comes into the site at Wentworth Park meaning that Daimler Truck Financial Services/ Daimler Truck UK portfolio is easy to forecast from.

  • Work in clear cooperation with Head of Used Truck on strategy for each quarter for vehicles sold at Level 1 – 3 preparation to ensure overall department meets its annual budget for sales and stock levels / stock age.

  • Be creative and enthusiastic to contribute to new marketing strategy techniques and campaigns working with the Used Truck Marketing Specialist and Head of Used Truck and then take to market with relevant territory dealer partners.

  • Ensure detail and integrity is paramount with all paperwork processes to commence sales preparation and delivery for the sales admin team to ensure sales operations can continue without need for the Used District Manager to be onsite at Wentworth Park at all times.

  • Be readily able to present to Head of Used Truck plus any other UK management around key performance of respective territory of dealers.

About you

You should bring proven experience in capital equipment sales or a financial environment, with knowledge of commercial vehicle sales or finance considered an advantage. Strong computer literacy and a full, clean driving licence are essential. Ideally, you will also be based in the South of England to effectively support the territory and customer network.

The role requires the ability to interpret statistics and strategic information, alongside excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal. A strong customer-focused approach is vital, including the ability to plan and deliver effective marketing programmes such as database-driven initiatives, sales campaigns and customer handling strategies. Exceptional people skills are key to succeeding in this role.
