Job Overview 

The Truck Sales Manager leads the dealership’s commercial vehicle sales division, drives market growth, and delivers exceptional customer experience while upholding Mercedes-Benz brand standards.

The Truck Sales Manager oversees the dealership’s commercial vehicle sales operations, drives market expansion, and ensures exceptional customer experiences, all while maintaining the high standards of the Mercedes‑Benz brand.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and motivate the truck sales team to meet volume and profitability targets. 
  • Develop sales strategies, forecasts, and annual business plans. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with fleet and key commercial customers. 
  • Manage pricing, deal structuring, trade-ins, and used-truck retail quality. 
  • Ensure an excellent customer journey from enquiry to delivery. 
  • Oversee marketing activities, promotions, and customer events. 
  • Ensure full compliance with Mercedes-Benz standards and processes.
  • Self-development: Taking personal responsibility for learning and development through a process of assessment, reflection and actioning.  This can include both on and/or off the job training.

Experience:

  • 5-8 Years Automotive (Commercial Vehicle) experience in dealer network operations, sales, support environment.
  • Proven leadership and sales management skills. 
  • Strong negotiation and commercial understanding, including fleet sales. 
  • Excellent customer relationship and communication skills. 
  • Computer literacy (Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Power Point).

Special Knowledge:

  • Basic technical and product knowledge of commercial vehicles.
  • Communications, analytical, planning and management skills.
  • Sales processes and systems.
  • Relationship management, sales and negotiation skills.
  • Results orientation, Attention to detail, Customer service orientation and Conceptual Thinking.
  • Business writing, negotiation, problem solving, networking and business etiquette skills.
  • Understanding of sales and marketing principles, company strategy, company policies and procedures, and corporate governance requirements.
