Your impact and responsibilities:
A rare opportunity is available for an astute leader as Chief Information Officer (CIO) to join our growing team at Daimler Truck Financial Services Australia (DTFSAu). The CIO is responsible for all IT strategy development throughout the business, with a focus on Applications, Infrastructure, Project Management, Information Security and Architecture to deliver results to the DTFSAu business and our broader dealer partners during a time of significant transformation within our IT landscape. These landmark changes offer an opportunity for the entire IT department to showcase innovation, capability and leadership whilst taking part in projects that are visible globally within our organisation. Additionally, this position will hold a critical leadership position within our Executive Committee, driving strategic initiatives across all areas of the business through board-level decisions.
Reporting to the CIO DTFS international (overseas), your principal duties and responsibilities will include:
- Provide strategic leadership to the IT function and drive technology initiatives as a core member of the Executive Committee
- Set a clear, forwardlooking IT vision that aligns with organisational priorities and global/regional strategies, ensuring technology becomes an enabler of longterm commercial success.
- Lead and develop a highperforming IT team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and operational excellence across all technology domains.
- Oversee the design, delivery and governance of the IT roadmap, ensuring robust, scalable and secure systems that drive business performance and meet compliance expectations.
- Champion enterprise information security as the Local Information Security Officer, embedding strong riskmanagement practices and maintaining organisational resilience.
- Direct national and international project portfolios with clarity, ensuring disciplined execution, effective stakeholder coordination, and timely delivery of strategic initiatives.
- Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, ensuring commercial value and service excellence through wellgoverned contractual arrangements and performance oversight.
- Provide transparent financial stewardship of the IT budget, ensuring prudent investment, cost discipline, and alignment of technology spend to business value.
- Guide workforce planning, talent development and succession planning within the IT team, securing the capability needed for sustainable digital transformation.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, championing the strategic vision of DTFSAu and enabling technology driven outcomes across the organisation.
What we are looking for:
The successful applicant will have vast experience leading and steering a team within the IT area, combined with the confidence and capability to develop the company’s IT strategy in accordance with business needs as well as regional and HQ requirements. As you build and develop your team, you will design and execute this strategy to ensure that the business is constantly evolving with trends in technology whilst streamlining applications to meet business processes and ensure innovation.
Your excellent leadership skills are vital to the successful performance of this role. From leading and coaching your team, to taking part in global projects, to local involvement in our Executive Committee - your steadfast approach to leading, influencing and making decisions with a people centric focus will ensure you are positively contributing to the culture of our business.
A solid understanding of modern information system technologies coupled with your outstanding professional and inter-personal skills will ensure you are well placed to advise and make recommendations as required. Your in-depth knowledge of data administration and management processes along with a sound understanding of IT infrastructure and applications, integration platforms, and IT security topics will be essential.
Ideally you will have Graduate or Post Graduate degree in Information Technology or equivalent field, along with significant experience managing a similar team within a complex and corporate environment.
