As Senior Tax Manager, you will take ownership of the UK tax framework across Daimler Truck UK, Daimler Bus UK and Daimler Truck Financial Services UK.
This is a high-impact standalone leadership role, combining hands-on oversight of compliance and governance with strategic advisory support to senior leadership.
You will act as the primary UK interface with HMRC, ensuring the Group’s tax affairs remain compliant, well-governed and commercially aligned, while working closely with CFOs, the Head of Accounting & Controlling, Shared Services and the Daimler Truck AG Tax Department.
The role offers end-to-end ownership of UK tax matters across multiple entities, with direct exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence business decisions through practical, commercially focused tax advice.
Tax Governance & Compliance
- Own and deliver the UK tax framework across all Group entities
- Ensure full compliance with UK tax legislation
- Oversee preparation and submission of corporate tax returns, VAT returns, SAO declarations and regulatory filings
- Maintain robust “four-eyes” controls and approval processes
- Ensure effective oversight of UK tax reporting and governance
HMRC & Regulatory Management
- Act as the primary liaison with HMRC across all UK Group companies
- Manage tax audits and enquiries
- Ensure regulatory reporting requirements are fulfilled accurately and on time
Process & Risk Management
- Identify and manage tax risks across the UK Group
- Ensure alignment with Daimler Group policies and governance standards
- Drive continuous improvement in tax processes to enhance efficiency and consistency
Business Partnering
- Provide clear, practical tax advice to CFOs and senior leadership
- Support business initiatives with appropriate tax input where required
- Work collaboratively with external advisors where specialist support is needed
You are an experienced tax professional who enjoys combining technical expertise with commercial awareness and stakeholder engagement. You are confident operating in a standalone leadership role and comfortable taking ownership of UK tax matters while working closely with senior stakeholders.
You will bring:
- CTA and/or ACA qualification
- Strong knowledge of UK tax legislation
- Experience engaging with HMRC frameworks
- A track record of managing tax compliance within a group environment
- The ability to translate complex tax matters into practical business guidance
- A governance mindset and a pragmatic approach to risk
