Your impact and responsibilities:

 

Daimler Truck Financial Services has a new and exciting position as the Resale Operations Specialist to join its Operations team at our Head Office in Mulgrave. This sales and administration role will be a key link leading collaboration between our direct customers, dealer network, auction house and other key internal and external stakeholders. Responsible for co-ordinating all returning Guaranteed Buy Back contracts in line with our Customer Journey, reselling the returned trucks and closing contracts - this role encompasses high-level sales coordination, negotiation and strategic decision-making to drive efficient asset management, optimise outcomes and elevate our customer experience.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in driving sales performance and maximising revenue opportunities. The key responsibilities will be:

 

  • Monitor monthly auction results and work closely with auction houses to achieve optimal sale prices

    • Assess dealer offers and negotiate to secure the most profitable outcomes

    • Prepare and distribute weekly dealer sales catalogues, ensuring accurate and appealing presentation of available stock

    • Conduct market research to determine valuations, set competitive reserves, and coordinate stock transport for auction readiness

    • Support customer and dealer inquiries related to Guaranteed Buy Back, ensuring clarity and satisfaction

    • Monitor assets nearing lease maturity and coordinate timely customer returns

    • Invoice and collect charges for unfair wear and tear, safeguarding profitability

    • Provide early termination quotes to support proactive customer engagement

    • Check weekly stock inventory against the repossessed asset register for accuracy

    • Collaborate with Collections to process and monitor repossessions efficiently

    • Cross-train with broader teams to assist during peak periods

    • Actively participate in team meetings, initiatives, and relevant projects

    • Deliver a world-class customer support experience at every interaction

The successful candidate will be a confident and curious problem solver with an ability to take ownership of tasks, learning and adapting as you develop in this unique role. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for building relationships within the used truck market and related stakeholders, whilst looking to challenge processes to create improvements. Key to this role is an ability to be a self-starter with an ability to negotiate the best outcome for all involved parties, therefore, a sales and goal-oriented team player with a keen eye for detail will be highly valued. 

 

An understanding of the truck industry and of financial services processes will be advantageous as well as a tertiary qualification in a business or finance related field. This role requires use with Microsoft Office applications and general computer tasks, therefore any skill or experience with these systems is valued. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and looking to get ahead at every opportunity in order to provide the best experience for our customers, and the best outcome for our stakeholders.
