Homologation Specialist

We are looking for a Homologation Specialist to ensure our vehicles comply with relevant national and international standards.

You’ll take charge of the full homologation process, documenting every step and collaborating with internal teams, Daimler Truck, Daimler Buses HQ, and regulatory authorities.

  • Keeping up to date with regulatory standards and developing strategies to address changes.
  • Managing all aspects of retrofit compliance.
  • Leading the full homologation process for new and existing vehicles, including submitting documentation for approvals, managing UK-specific adaptations from EU approval and transitioning to Euro VII.
  • Acting as the main liaison with regulatory authorities, handling inspections, audits, and resolving any issues raised.
  • Attending SMMT and CPT meetings as well as tracking government funding schemes for the Bus and Coach industry.
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to the homologation process to ensure best practice.
  • Maintaining accurate, up-to-date homologation documentation and reporting.
  • Coordinating closely with engineering, quality and production teams to integrate compliance throughout product development.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Must hold the right to work in the UK
  • Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field is essential
  • Proven experience with M2/M3 vehicle categories (buses and coaches)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in vehicle homologation or regulatory compliance is essential
  • Training or certification in EU WVTA, UN-ECE regulations and ISO standards is desirable
  • Strong understanding of EU Regulations, UNECE standards and CoP requirements
  • Technical proficiency in vehicle systems and testing protocols
  • Strong project management and organisational skills

  • Competitive salary (From £41,885 with performance related bonus of 5% of salary)
  • 39-hour working week, Monday to Friday
  • 33 days holiday per year (including statutory holidays)
