Inside the Role
The Solution Architect will have the key responsibility of designing and driving the implementation of new IT solutions and managing service operations and service delivery of existing solutions in alignment with overall IT and Business strategic directions. The candidate must possess key insights and strong acumen to understand technological trends industry, have hands-on experience with designing and building medium to large scale data management systems and deliver solutions in alignment with the overall enterprise strategies. The Solution Architect will be looked upon to be the consultant for new or existing technologies, processes or solutions that contribute towards the realization of IT strategies, following best practices and formal methodologies. Perform evaluations of technology standards, tools/products and solutions, make rational design decisions from business and technical perspectives, and communicate recommendations to business areas. Participate in business areas engagements in the analysis, planning, and execution of IT-enabled business solutions. Define guidelines and recommendations based on leading industry practices tailored to our needs and infrastructure.In this role, the person will be responsible for working directly with the IT Product and Tech Leaders of two main applications: the DTFS Customer Portal and Daimler Truck Pay.

What You Drive at DTFS
- Responsible for defining and architecting future technology landscape and roadmap. Work with IT and business partners to gather and document business requirements and translate them to design solutions in alignment with IT and Business strategic direction. Strategize, Design and build technical solutions.
- Oversee and address customer issues/tickets; monitor system SLA’s; address system issues by performing root cause analysis and eliminating repeat problems. Collaborate with other solution architects, DBAs and IT Infrastructure in the timely resolution and prevention of future incidents. Work with IT Infrastructure teams to address issues and implement system upgrades with minimal impact to business continuity.
- Work closely with IT Security team to follow data security guidelines.
- Provide support for various audits, compliance activities and ensure IT governance, IT security, and Corporate Policies are followed. Ensure DevOps adoption for faster, agile service delivery.
- Manages an active and transparent relationship with business partners and other IT departments. Develop strong and productive relationships with business partners, colleagues and management.
- Keep up-to-date on newer frameworks and architecture in emerging technologies. Collaborate with the EA, application teams and other technology stakeholders to determine the best suited technical solutions.
- Develop plans and time estimates, track progress to plans, communicate status, and escalate issues and risks on a timely basis.
Knowledge You Should Bring
- BS/BA in Computer/Information Science or Information Technology
- 5 years of relevant experience developing and supporting IT application as solutions architect.
- Deep knowledge of Microservices architecture.
- Hands-on experience implementing Web Services (RESTful).
- Experience with Webservice Security specifications, WS-Security, WS-Policy, SAML, etc.
- Hands-on experience with Java and J2EE Technologies (JMS, JDBC, SQL, XML, JSP JMS, XML, XPath and XSLT, JSON)
- Experience building, configuring and deploying services on containers such as Web Sphere, JBOSS and Tomcat.
- Integration experience with any ESBs (such as TIBCO, IBM, or Oracle)
- Ability to collect data and establish facts and identify trends and variances
- Ability to formulate and test hypothesis for the purpose of forecasting outcomes
- Ability to integrate information from a variety of sources with varied levels of complexity
- Ability to review and interpret and evaluate statistical information
- IT skills: application development, e-technologies/web, programming, middleware
- Experience conducting proof-of-concept, developing prototyping and building reference models.
- Deep knowledge of SOA principles, design patterns, application and integration architectures
- Practical application debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with Hibernate, Axis, Ant, Maven is desired.
- Experience with UI Frameworks – Angular and React
- Experience with Database Technologies like Postgres SQL
- Practical application debugging and troubleshooting skills
- In-depth knowledge of the MS Azure cloud environment, enabling the architecting and deployment of applications.
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
- Master’s degree in Information Technology
- Prior consulting experience is highly preferred
