Sr Manager - Stamping

As a Cost Engineer, you will drive cost transparency by implementing zero-based costing in various phases of a product. During the concept phase, providing estimate on part cost & tooling cost to guide business decisions followed by delivering detailed estimation to optimize part and tooling cost for series awarding. Further you will lead cost optimization efforts, applying innovative strategies to enhance material cost efficiency thereby improving business results.

 

  • Ensure100% estimation for parts and tooling costs for all new product projects with timeline adherence.
  • Drive & Conduct Design to Target (DTT) in collaboration with R&D & Project team
  • Providing bottom-up target cost estimations for project target setting
  • Provide negotiation support to Procurement for right price awarding with transparent cost gap analysis for New product projects
  • Ensure tool cost negotiation within the budget & purchase request completion within timeline for new & re-order tooling
  • Bring Cost transparency for series parts by detailed REC estimation & Cost Gap Analysis
  • Responsible for shared service support in costing and benchmarking for Daimler group companies globally.
  • Evaluate the cost implications of change requests through Integrated Change Management Portal
  • Teardown benchmark estimation & report for aggregate/vehicle level
  • Provide negotiation support to Procurement for validation of price increase request from supplier
  • Generate IMCS ideas through BCC Sourcing, attending benchmark workshops, Cost Analytics, evaluating cost-saving ideas from supplier VAVE workshops.
  • Support supplier evaluation and selection during onsite supplier audits.
  • Maintain and update the Cost Transparency sheet, Cost Catalogue, and Cost BOM for the respective aggregate
  • Update, validate and introduce required input factors for the respective commodity

Maximum 10 years of automotive experience (OEM or tier 1) with Min 3 years of experience in following job profiles :

  5. Manufacturing / Process Engineering
