Job Overview
Responsible for procuring cost-effective non-production materials and services in compliance to the Company's Integrity, Anti Bribery Codes, Conflict of Interest Policy, Safety, Health, Environment, Risk and Quality requirements and to perform delegated SHERQ tasks and duties & manage risk mitigation measures and non-compliance topics.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Business Unit enhancement: Participate in the formulation of global commodity management strategies, for non-production materials and services and responsible for local defined National Buy Strategies. Ensure all strategies are aligned to global requirements. Manage the budgets of the department. Shared Service.
- Purchasing Performance: Responsible for the procurement of cost-effective non-production materials and services; responsible for cost optimisation and transparency throughout the supply chain. Participate in the execution of the department operational targets in alignment with local and global requirements.
- Supplier Management: Interacts with global and local vendor community and the Purchasing Services network in order to develop long term relationships and thus achieve long term targets as set in the goal agreements. Conduct vendor price negotiations in accordance with Procurement Services targets. Attend to escalation matters with suppliers where required.
- Quality Assurance: Interact and support cross-functional processes for materials and services and support group operations through ensuring an uninterrupted flow of non-production materials and services.
- Integrity, Compliance, Knowledge & Innovation: Initiate and facilitate supplier development by employing new technologies and processes as per the supplier minimum requirements; suggest changes in accordance with BBBEE codes of practice as defined by the DTI. Commit to a culture of integrity with particular consideration to compliance. Promote and support integrity including rewarding and disclosing compliance achievement or misconduct in an appropriate manner. Implementation and promotion of efficient and effective internal compliance controls, including regular assessments and risk mitigating measures to avoid non-compliance. Complete and arrange training requirements on time when required. Prepare and run all audit requirements.
- People management: To set clear KPI's and conduct staff performance appraisals and ensure KPI's are met. Take appropriate action based on required output. Identify training needs, initiate suitable training in conjunction with DTSA standards. Conduct regular staff meetings with team to improve motivation and communication. Effectively manage daily activities according to KPI's. Support with escalation topics
- Matric plus National Diploma or Degree in Procurement/Purchasing or relevant equivalent.
- Purchasing, Logistics, Supply Chain, Accounting, Business Operations, Economics, Statistics, Project Management certificates (added advantage).
- Computer literacy (MS Office, think cell).
Experience:
- 3 to 5 years' experience in a specialised field (Purchasing/Supply Chain /Project Management/ Logistics/ Marketing/ IT).
Special Knowledge:
- Ability to negotiate on all levels.
- Stakeholder engagement skills.
- Understanding the new BBBEE codes.
- Company Policies, Structure and Procedures.
- Excellent Communication Skills (Oral & Written).
