As a Product Owner within the Connectivity Services Group, you will be a key contributor to our strategic project, Data as a Service (DAAS). In this role, you will collaborate closely with internal and external partners to bring groundbreaking applications to our fleet customers. Your responsibilities will include defining and prioritizing product features, facilitating communication between stakeholders, and ensuring that the product vision becomes a reality.

Position offers a starting salary range of $95,000.00 - $121,000.00 USD 

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience​

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Agile Product Development: Collaborate with SAFe teams on all new feature development, including but not limited to building, grooming, prioritizing feature backlog Identify and manage inter-team development dependencies. Drive sprint planning, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives to maintain a high level of efficiency and product quality. Contribute to, review/approve user stories, sprint planning, and QA testing.
  • Requirements Gathering: Elicit and document clear and detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Maintain a well-organized and up-to-date product backlog that reflects priorities and business objectives. Create, collect, and lead requirements for POC, MVP, MSP, and action plans, managing each strategic growth opportunity through completion.
  • User Research and Insights: Translate customer input into actionable product improvements and feature enhancements by writing user stories with detailed acceptance criteria for product features while utilizing SAFe/Agile framework.
     
  • Problem-Solving: Prioritize incoming issues from various teams to develop an appropriate solution. Additionally, document these issues in JIRA while collaborating with cross-functional teams on solution design to drive resolution. Propose technical solutions and spearhead technical solutions across diverse initiatives from the development team.
  • Build Connections: Engage with cross-department portal stakeholders to prioritize work, coordinate and plan against dependencies communicate needs, and ensure resource availability to support continuous improvement of the product.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field from an accredited university/college required, as well as three years of relevant experience OR eight years of relevant experience.
  • At least two years of industry experience in software development.
  • Expertise utilizing tools to manage agile projects such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Proven history of delivering commercial solutions with software engineering teams
  • Familiarity with Azure environment.
  • Professional proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Ability to translate product features into user stories and further breaking them down into technical requirements that are easily digestible by development teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills; ability to communicate across cultures and geographic regions.
  • Exceptional technical documentation skills.
  • Strong ability to context-switch and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrable experience and comfort in presenting to leadership teams.
  • Ability to work across time zones.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in the telematics industry, with a focus on commercial trucking.
  • SAFe PO certification is preferred.
  • Strong experience with Azure IoT services such as Azure IoT Hub, Azure IoT Edge, Azure Time Series Insights, and Azure Stream Analytics. 
  • Experience with big data tools such as HDInsight, Data Lake Storage, and Databricks is a plus.
  • Strong coding skills in at least one programming language such as Python, R, or Java is a plus. 
  • Strong understanding of data generated by commercial trucks and its applications.
  • Product validation experience in the trucking industry is a significant plus.
  • Strong understanding of telematics technology, IoT, and fleet management, particularly in the context of commercial trucks.
  • Knowledge in commercial vehicles, digital products, or telematics.
  • Strong understanding on Azure cloud concepts especially emphasis on IOT data analytics
  • Experience in driving data quality within the organization
  • Understanding of Commercial vehicle electrical architecture and CAN signals is a plus
