Your impact and responsibilities:

Daimler Truck Financial Services Australia (DTFSAu) has a rare and exciting opportunity for a motivated, passionate and dedicated leader in the position of Head of Credit Operations and Operations.  Based at our Head Office in Mulgrave, and in a critical position within our Executive Committee, you will be responsible for leading the Credit Operations function and take responsibility for credit decisions, credit policies, risk management instruments and collections. This role is responsible for driving the strategic direction and initiatives for the Operations Department which covers settlements, customer support, collections, and remarketing functions. Managing a diverse team of 22, this is a critical senior management role within DTFSAu and focuses on people engagement, customer experience, technology, and process enhancements to deliver strong business results.

 

 

Reporting to the Managing Director, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive credit risk policies, covering the entire credit lifecycle—from credit decisioning and arrears management to asset remarketing and portfolio analysis.

  • Set and execute credit strategy and operational guidelines in line with local regulations and corporate standards.

  • Manage the credit decision process across Retail, Lease, and Wholesale portfolios, leading credit managers and analysts, and collaborating with Sales, Dealers, and Customers

  • Ensure achievement of credit origination KPIs, collection targets, and non-performing loan metrics.

  • Oversee customer service, settlements, collections, repossessions, and remarketing functions to maximize recovery and customer satisfaction.

  • Lead omni-channel customer and retailer finance support, including helpdesk and credit reference services.

  • Manage vehicle returns processes to optimize revenue and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.

  • Conduct portfolio analysis to monitor credit quality, develop risk management tools, and recommend strategic countermeasures.

  • Serve as a key member of the Executive Committee, contributing to the company’s strategic vision and purpose.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Credit and Operations team, aligning goals with global and regional priorities.

  • Plan and coordinate projects nationally and internationally, managing cross-functional teams and committees.
