Inside the Role
As a Portfolio Accounting Specialist, you will be a key contributor to a high-performing and collaborative team ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data related to our Retail Consumer and Capital loan portfolio or Wholesale portfolio, depending on the Area of Responsibility. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, including the full lifecycle of financial transactions—from origination and recognition to processing and reporting in financial statements. As the Subject Matter Expert (SME), your primary responsibilities will include supporting strategic initiatives, reconciling portfolio general ledger accounts, and investigating discrepancies to identify root causes and implement resolution. You will collaborate with ITM, Business System Owners, and Operations. You will lead and execute user acceptance testing (UAT), drive process improvements and implement operational efficiencies. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will be essential to ensure timely completion of month-end close activities while maintaining strong internal controls.Posting Information

What You Drive at DTFS
- Support and provide assistance as a subject matter expert on portfolio related issues to various groups such as Financial Reporting, Tax, Data Analytics, and Operations. Initiate and/or integrate process changes including operational efficiencies.
- Perform daily/monthly portfolio general ledger account reconciliations, including clearing accounts. Analyze and research discrepancies, identify and implement resolutions, and escalate issues to appropriate teams or process correcting entries when needed. Reconciliations are complex in nature with high volume of data and risk exposure. Requires a high level of analysis using reports, Microsoft Excel/Access, SAP, and portfolio (ALFA) system research.
- Perform month-end close and analytical review of general ledger balances. Requires a high level of analysis and problem solving, using reports, pivot tables, and system research.
- Interact with Financial Reporting and other Daimler teams on intercompany transactions and annual confirmations process.
- Lead and execute user acceptance testing and/or analyze reports for regular system upgrades/changes prior to implementation and prepare supporting documentation for all manual activities to support compliance with internal control guidelines.
Knowledge You Should Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- 5-7 years of accounting experience
